Zone defense was implemented to "diversify" the NBA. They wanted to put rules in place that would allow teams to hide guys who lacked the lateral quickness to defend a man one on one.

Using zone defense is like lowering your rim to 8 feet from 10 so you can dunk.

It's like bowling with bumpers because you keep rolling gutter balls.

It's like putting a kit in your hair to get waves *cough* @GollyImGully

It just feels so dirty.
