Where do you rank A Bronx Tale in gangster movies?

Do you consider "Untouchables" a gangster flick? What about Carlito's Way or maybe even Scarface?

Or are you talking about mob movies to be more specific?

Yeah my bad, I'm talking about mob movies in particular, shoulda specified that in the title.

And The Untouchables falls in that category. I'm not as interested in that one tho but I'd say it ranks in the top 10.

Carlito's Way and Scarface are straight up classics too but I'm talking more Mafia/Mob related. Even tho the whole final scene of Carlito's Way involves Italian mobsters.

i have a soft spot in my heart for a bronx tale. very underrated movie. but honestly im not sure i consider it a gangster movie.

Yeah it felt more anti-mob.

The movie gave me some perspective like how to deal with people who owe you money and dodge you all the time.

"Is he a good friend of yours?"

"Nah I don't even like him"

"You don't even like him? There's your answer right there. Look at it this way, it cost you 20 dollars to get rid of him. He's never gonna bother you again, he's never gonna ask you for money again. He's out of your life for 20 dollars. You got off cheap, forget it."


Lots of life lessons in that movie.

Good movie, the little lessons, esp. the debt one, were insightful as a kid, but I think I liked it more when i was younger, I rarely watch it, either DVD, or when it's on cable, I think it has something to do with being older, as well as the lead performance by the Sopranos kid. I never liked the romance angle....it felt so tacked on, and forced, that may be a bigger part of it too, then I realize.

I wonder if he can salvage his acting career. I also wondered why he fell of the map after seeing him in The Sopranos. Seemed like he would have had a GOAT TV career.

Yeah, he looked like he was onto big things after being in The Sopranos but he f*cked up :smh:

Apparently they were burgling this dudes house and the next door neighbour was a cop. He came out they shot him dead. He got off tho, they wanted to charge him with 2nd degree murder. And his co-de was a junkie, the father of his girlfriend.

Just another way to show how women can f*ck up ur life :smh:

Bronx Tale is classic. When the mob dude told him if the girl don't unlock your door she a selfish bytch. Lots of game being dropped in that movie.

Funny Deniro directed that movie and had the lead be in love with a black girl. You know Deniro only love black women. So he had to put that in there. lol
