It was only so long that the Neo-Liberal policies that neglect of the poor and middle class could go on without hurting whites.

Working class whites are just now realizing the results of decades of GOP policies benefitting the rich. But instead of supporting a real populist like Bernie, they chose to double down on bigotry and xenophobia advanced by a conman who offers them a convenient scape goat.

Unfortunately for the country, due to their sheer numbers, structural changes can't happen until this segment of the population smartens up.

Yup. Additionally, The Empire is really dragging down the US, the costs of providing platform for the parasitic rentier class to feed on the rest of the world is unsustainable.

The end of dollar hegemony is an opportunity for the US to revive the real economy and this will make it much stronger than it is today, but it wont have an empire. National priorities would have to change.

Right Wing ideology is a form of darwinism, they believe that the fittest person is going to prosper in any type of environment or situation and doesn't need help from the government, and poor people are just a waste of time because they're too weak to be competitive and too lazy to succeed in a society. They really don't believe the government through social benefits can help someone to move up the socioeconomic ladder. All their rhetorics and policies are based on this fundamental principle Republicans are just social darwinists at this point.
