Why was Jerry West awarded the NBA Logo? How has he maintained it this long?

Says he would use the royalty money to build facilities in poor neighborhoods so they can play ball and have something to do. Side note, the logo in this thread of Jordan dribbling is a good one too. Feels like a classic style. It'd have to be that type of image or someone posting up I think. Can someone do one of the classic image of magic and bird boxing out for the rebound?

They're not gonna spend the millions on a rebrand for a "classic" logo that's been around since the late 60s. Second, they don't even acknowledge it's West which means no licensing fees. Which modern player is letting a multi billion dollar company use their likeness for free

They'd probably name money off a new logo.
