49ers..Braves..Celtics
Couple things to consider..

Obviously a lot of people didn't have the ability to order PPV for a while (not all cable companies were up on that) and also.. WWE didn't start reporting worldwide numbers until the last five or six years.

Most of the numbers during the attitude era are domestic only.

Wow, I forgot that Lesnar/Angle mainevented WM19 over Rock/SCSA, Hogan/McMahon, and Shawn/Jericho. Despite all the classics here I stopped watching wrestling on WM19 because of HHH/Booker. Didn't watch again until 2005.

The Observer is the main source. Got all the info by either reading some issues, news sites or posts from other forums by guys I know have read the WON or have researched this kind of stuff (mainly wrestlingclassics).

I'd love to see numbers for wCw too. But haven't found a reliable source for them yet. I know that Starrcade 97' and Bash at the Beach 98' did over 600,000 (or very close to it) but that's it.

EDIT: no idea how legit this are...

Upped with the latest numbers for WM, ER, OTL and NWO according with WWE's latest quarterly report.

In their 2012 second quarter earnings, WWE released the official buyrate for every pay-per-view in the quarter. The numbers are as follows with the previous year in parenthesis:

Wrestlemania XXVIII – 1,217,000 buys (compared to 1,120,000 last year)
Extreme Rules – 263,000 buys (compared to 209,000 last year)
Over the Limit – 167,000 buys (compared to 140,000 last year)
No Way Out – 194,000 buys (compared to 170,000 last year as Capitol Punishment)

So what this has shown... is most years, if nothing else did spectacular, the Rumble and Mania always did numbers. SummerSlam until recent years drew too. Guess I can kinda see why Vince & co. almost went ahead and axed Survivor Series. But it's kinda their own fault Series doesn't draw anymore, cause it hasn't REALLY been Survivor Series for years now.

Kinda interesting Mania 21 drew like it did, with the two top matches consisting of people who hadn't proven to be draws yet- Cena and Batista (and for that matter, JBL). And drew more than Mania 20 at that, which I figured would've drawn more just on being the 20th anniversary show.

Lesnar drew the best B PPV buyrate in 2 years. Best Backlash/Extreme Rules buyrate in 7 years too.

:jawalrus:

That's why you have to respect a guy like Rock or Brock who decides to come in and draw some money, whereas with a guy like CM Punk most people wouldn't even think he's a wrestler. That's why the business is in trouble.

Idk if you guys realize how ridiculous this number:

Wrestlemania III: 400,000 buys aprox. (Hogan vs Andre)

Is

There was like...4 million ppv ready households in america at the time...they did 10% of households on ppv...a damn 10 buyrate...fukking insane

I don't believe it, WWE wasn't public at the time and I wouldn't put it past them to lie about it like the other shyt they lie about from WM3.

Invasion doing 775k with that garbage roster is crazy. If they had a team WCW with something like Sting, Goldberg, DDP, Booker, Nash that probably would've topped WM17.
