death and the disembodiment of man

I mean we all technically die alone anyway right? So why do people seem so scared of the idea?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. If we presuppose that death is not the end. If we have a soul or consciousness beyond our physical form, what would you want to do after death assuming you had a choice. I don't think I'd want to go to Heaven( unless it had layers to it.) Or any of the...
