I believe it was MONEY that controlled the killers...not Suge. They didn't truly respect him like that.

whenever Suge tried to flake on paying the muscle, or especially whenever he tried to assert authority over them in general, nikkas would get upset and storm into his office ready to smash on 'im, like "WHO THE fukk YOU THINK YOU IS, nikka?!?", and he would do this little chuckle, like "Heh heh...aw man, you know I'm just playing witchoo...", and hand the nikka a large check or some cash in general or some shyt, and that would usually resolve the matter, with the pissed homie leavin satisfied for the moment.
This came straight from Mob James, who was there every day.
Suge was a cash cow to nikkas...and along the way, he ingratiated himself within their culture such that, to outsiders, it looked like it was HIS crew, his gang.
Also....while I don't wish prison on ANY human, I do realize that karma is a bytch. You cannot treat people the way Suge did and NOT expect that shyt to come back on you at some point (ask Dame Dash about that, too).
Y'all screamin "free Suge", but Simon is now reapin' what he sowed all those years.
But then again...half y'all even screamin that shyt prollee wasn't even around back then and are therefore more into the romanticism of the Suge lore than you are into facts, so.....yunno....there's THAT to consider.
