Why not? And truth be told (cuz I was just about to discuss AEW Dark) last nights ep was actually a REALLY good show

I think there was a real life story behind that as this dude was a real life old friend of Moxley in the industry that he was basically trynna give him some shine and an opportunity

I think something is being teased or played in the long game. Like they ain’t exactly ignoring, she was on commentary during a QT match and was asked directly about Butcher & Blade.

And she kinda did the “heel” thing where she played coy and dismissed it. But it was touched on. Guess we’ll have to see where it goes

AEW is on some DUMB shyt with all the top stars having these super long drawn out matches with straight up bums like that. when that dude walked out on Dark to face Moxley i joked that if the match lasted longer than 7 minutes I should stop watching AEW forever...Man that match was LONG AS fukk..I'm not gonna give up because I'm rooting for them but that is not the move. Kenny has been doing it...Cody is doing it..everybody keeps having 10+ minute jobber matches.


the AEW roster is hurt and i cant tell if thats just a COVID thing or what...they keep digging deeper and deeper into the bag and pulling out the most trash people...

why isnt Orange Cassidy more utilized? he's arguably the most over guy on the whole roster.

Na it wasn’t a title shot it was just a match.

Under any other circumstances, I can actually see that point. But I think he was just trynna give his buddy in addition to a little bit of exposure, a payday. Cuz think about it, only AEW, WWE, and loosely Impact are running. So what about the indie guys and how are they getting paid?

Looking at last nights Dark, it was cool seeing quite a few guys get that exposure and chance to get a check that normally they wouldn’t be getting while most current signed company people are still getting paid.

I bet Vince ain’t stopped paying Reigns, Tessa still getting a check, Naito and Okada still getting checks, Pentagon still getting checks, Nick Aldus still getting checks.

So from that perspective, I think it’s cool what they doing with Dark

Heres my only pushback and it’s not really simply a “oh trynna defend AEW thing” before anyone jumps to that.

But I think from watching how the Es been doing it for decades. Then watching how LU and NJPW does. I’m fine with the long matches from unknown guys to build them up.

Squashing most of your roster consistently and only elevating 12 people does nothing for your company. And makes it hard to believe later when you brag “but we have the BEST talent in the world”

Looking back at LU, one can make a case they had the strongest roster in modern times as they didn’t destroy or ruin talent for the sake of it or to spitefully get another top guy over.

That the main reason why you can get behind and believe Pentagon can take on 4 women

Talent wise, the E has and has had more talent than they’ve ever had in the existence of their company.

But star wise due to how the use and mistreat them, they’ve had less than ever in compared to the 80s and 90s.

Hulk, Randy, Piper were the stars but they didn’t have Mr. Perfect, Tatanka, Big Bossman, Coco BeWare and IRS just randomly getting destroyed and jobbing ever other week like they do current guys. Until they decent “hey we wanna push you” like out of no where Apollo came. 2-3 months ago he either wasn’t on tv or was getting squashed

I get being "Jobber Friendly" and all. Especially when the roster is young and you've still got a gang of motherfukkers that haven't made it to TV yet.. but it does a disservice to say, Omega's presentation to a possible larger-scale audience when he's having competitive bouts with enhancement talent instead of bodying them with one V-Trigger after 3-4 minutes.

There CAN be a friendly balance either by accident (See, Ellsworth) or by design (See, Heath Slater's initial SDL run) but the cardinal rule is you gotta keep your stars looking like stars, breh. Otherwise, they just come off as being one step above being another face in the crowd.
