On the surface it seems pretty even...both won a title and lost a hard fought 7 game series in their 2nd Finals appearance. I gotta go with Boston because injuries and eventually age and comp kept them from winning more. There is no good reason why the Pistons didnt' win it all in 06, 07, or 08. Honestly they should have won in 05.

Pistons had a better run (6 straight conference finals), but the 08 Celtics would beat any of those Pistons teams. The Pistons were always overrated.

Overrated how? They were pretty much a lock to make the CF for 6 years in a row. They were acknowledged as such. I don't recall anyone making them out to be more than that. They certainly could have been though. As far as the 08 Celts go the 04 and 05 squads would beat them. The later squad could have beaten them just like they could have beaten Cleveland, MIA, or the actually 08 Celtics.

Larry got his ring and bounced, he could of had two or three more AND could have developed Darko in to SOMETHING instead of benching him for being a rookie

ironically thats one of the reason we let Carlisle go because he wouldnt play tay/okur when they got drafted and both turned out in to decent/good role players okur was an all star once. Funny how both got 50+ wins out of this team and both got championships

The squad was stacked. Joe D did an amazing job assembling that team. If only he hadn't fallen in love with "the next Dirk". You put Melo, Wade, or even Bosh on that squad and I don't see how they don't win at least 2 more titles.

If Larry Brown would've been the coach in 2007 no way Detroit would've lost that series to Cleveland.

LeBron scored 29 points in the 4th and OT and Flip Saunders didnt double team him once

They were lock a because the Eastern Conference was trash. Look at the teams that they beat. Whenever they went up against legit competition they folded even when they were the favorites.
