gave us that work tho :heh: i remember being in grade 8 like the pistons? :heh:

then i was like the pistons :ohhh:
We were a different team when Malone was playing. If Malone was healthy we would've won. Pistons caught a huge break there.

yeah in retrospect Karl was the god damn truth... his bbiq is prob top 5 ever, his ability to always find mismatches and roll out for the pop on a pick and roll was incredible... he always got a good shot.

while i have u here, what you think about paus role this and next year? should he be the 6th man center behind dwight or should he be traded or should dwight... how do we end this dilemma :mindblown:

They were lock a because the Eastern Conference was trash. Look at the teams that they beat. Whenever they went up against legit competition they folded even when they were the favorites.

02 - Lost to the Nets
02 - lost to the Nets
04 - Beat the Pacers - Won the Ring by beating the Lakers (Malone went down with an injury)
05 - Beat the Heat. (Wade went down with an injury)
06 - Lost to the Heat
07 - Lost to the Cavs ( Were the HEAVY favorites)
08 - Lost to the Celtics

Tell me about it :why:.

First of all injuries happen every year so if you are gonna disqualify their W's when other squads had injuries you are gonna have to disqualify pretty much every title in history.

Secondly there is no denying that they were one of the best teams in the league each of those years. They were regarded as such, so once again how were they overrated? I could see if people were saying they were by far the best team in the L but that's not the case. They were among the elite and were rated pretty accurately.

As far as losing series they were favored in or against legit comp that is absolutely true. The problem was they took on the personality of their most talented player, Sheed, and went out there thinking that just being good enough was enough rather than actually playing like they wanted it. They got fat and sassy after 04 and 05. If they maintained that same mindset from 04 they would have had 3 or 4 chips.

For 6 years they were the heavy favorites to come out of the East and win it all and they only did it once. That's why they were overrated.

If we are going to keep Dwight. I think we have to trade Pau for a powerfoward that can spread the floor and rebound and an athletic wing. Dwight was at his best in Orlando with Rashard Lewis and Ryan Anderson at the four. When Dwight doesn't have a lot of space in the post to work with he isn't very effective.

For this year Pau has to come off the bench. There isn't enough time for those two to figure out how to play with each other.

For 6 years they were the heavy favorites to come out of the East and win it all and they only did it once. That's why they were overrated.

Let's go year by year:

03- Far from heavy favorites. Suprised people by getting to the CF.
04- Far from heavy favorites. Did you forget about that Indiana squad?
05- Defending Champs
06- Defending Conference Champs but people were on MIA too
07- People were on MIA and they had beat MIA the previous year
08- People were on BOS and CLE more than the Pistons

So I repeat how were they overrated? What...did you just get tired of seeing them on TV or do you just hang out with some Detroit nikkas? :heh: They certainly should have won it more than once...no fukkin doubt.

To me Boston Underachieved and the Pistons Overachieved.

The Pistons beat a Shaq/Kobe squad and than the next year beat a Shaq/Wade team.

Pistons actually underachieved. nikkas lost to the Cavs when Larry Hughes was they 2nd best player :dead: and he was a non factor throughout the series. They were capable of beating every team they lost too.

Boston got derailed by KGs injury. They damn near beat ORL, the Eastern Conference Champ for that year, without him. If Garnett stays healthy they probably win a couple more. Pistons were pretty much healthy ever season and just went out there on some :manny: shyt. nikkas didn't compete after that 05 series against the Spurs.

IIR, Detroit wasn't favored to beat the nets in '02 or '03. And didn't Chauncey get hurt in one of those series?

Also Detroit wasn't necessarily the favorite to come out the east in '04 (Indiana had the best record in the East and were lookin beastly) much less win it all in finals (Lakers were).

They were barely favorites if even at all to win the east in '05 as Miami had the best record in the East and Shaq was a MVP candidate. And they sure as hell were not favorites to beat the Spurs that year.

'06 was the first year that everyone expected them to make it through the east (they won like 66 games or somethin) and make it to the finals vs a Dallas or a San Antonio. But them getting done in by DWade and Miami wasn't seen as big a deal given what Wade would end up doing to Dallas. What was more embarrassing imo was how the Cavs almost took em out the round before. That to me was the beginning of the end b/c with Larry Brown gone, neither Ben nor Rasheed Wallace respected Saunders, it trickled down, and the lack of trust and poise started showing when things got tight. You figured Ben was going to bounce.

'07 was the first year that they legit choked and against a non championship team, against those exact same Cavs that almost beat em last year. That was inexcusable and a complete embarrassment.

'08 was whatever. Detroit was the more veteran team, collectively, but Boston was the more talented team.

With that said, '06 and specifically/without question '07 are the two years that Detroit could/would lose the argument vs that Boston team. You could argue that '06 Wade and that Heat squad were simply too hot perhaps... but Detroit should have been having their rematch with San Antonio in '07. On the flipside, there was never a year where the Celtics blatantly underachieved in the playoffs imo. '09 KG was hurt, and '11 and '12 vs Miami, it was what it was. no real shame there. 2010 game 7 in the finals? Same thing. Coulda woulda shoulda sure, but it was still respectable.

I'll actually go with Sheed, ironically enough. This nikka said "fukk Robert Horry and his 5 rings and long list of big shots I'm go double Manu in the corner when he already has nowhere to go." :snoop: And I don't believe he provided a fukk after that.

04-05 pistons with Larry Brown & Ben Wallace would smash any of those Celtic teams
