Still a football movie maybe more than most.. Varsity Blues was a comedy slash drama. I think the football scenes in Necessary are better tho.

They ended up winning 51 - 16 but for 2 quarters, we felt

Even though Rudy wasn’t as football-focused as a movie, it is a far better film overall, and probably the best of the 4 listed.
