Depends on what you mean by producer. If you mean making beats then Dre is not even top 5. If you mean mixing and mastering then dre is #1

Dre does not master ....

Bob Power is arguably the greatest Hip Hop mix engineer....

Dre is a producer , not a beat maker , and in that sense his sonic template, sensibility and direction is what make him Top 5 , possibly Goat producer....

How do you know? Were you there in the studio?
:gucci: It’s no secret Scott Storch played all those beats from chronic 2001 on the keyboard. Not even Dre will dispute that. The drums is another story tho, that was Scott Storch biggest problem when he produced on his own. His production with dre always had better sounding drums

Yeah Scott Storch has said in multiple interviews he would come up with the piano melodies. He would play random shyt and Dre would tell him roll with this Melody or that Melody for the beat (which IS producing). And Dre would come with the drums and everything else. So no Dre wasn't just "tweaking" beats made by Scott Storch. It was a true collaborative effort which is why they shared production credit.

And you want to diminish Dre for working with co-producers ignoring the fact that Timbaland has worked with plenty of co-producers like Danja and Harmon

Neither are in my top 5 but I wouldn't have an issue with anybody who would put them at 1 and 2

Storch didn't play on every song on 2001 according to the credits. The songs that Storch did play on, he even had assistance on keys. Storch's role in 2001 is way overrated on here. He was an integral part of the album, but he wasn't as involved as most on here make it out to be.
