Interesting that the average of the Thursday Night NFL games on CBS was 16 million..

The average of the ESPN Monday Night game is 13 million.

Game 5 of the World Series did 12 million..though Game 7 did big numbers.

Spurs vs heat averaged 15 million viewers.

So a regular season College Football game WITH competition beats a World Series game and comes close to the NBA Finals while being on basic cable while the others are on broadcast.

I can only imagine how high the ratings for Bama v Ohio State in the Playoffs will be.

Doesn't matter, won't happen. Other in state schools have tried and gotten blocked.

Clemson, FSU, GT won't get in to the SEC due to South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia not wanting them in.

It's not about not wanting them.The SEC is already getting all the money they are going to get from those areas.So there is no real advantage to doing so.

Due in large part to the ACC's academic and basketball reputations, FSU administrators decided to take their programs to that conference, Bowden said. On July 1, 1991, the Seminoles officially were ACC members.

I am asked why we joined the ACC instead of the SEC back in 1992. We were invited to join both conferences the same year. Let me first say that we (FSU) had applied for membership in the SEC for the previous 20 to 25 years but were turned down every time. When we made our decision, the people making those decisions preferred the ACC for academic reasons.

What part did I play in it? I merely agreed to whatever those responsible decided. I had always been an SEC fan. I did feel, however, that between the SEC and the ACC, the best road to a national title was through the ACC. A national championship was my number one goal every year. The SEC is so tough, top to bottom, that they beat up on each other week after week. In the '90's we played for the national title five times and won two. This proves my point. Plus, FSU won another title last year and may win again this year!
