Worse than North Philly or Chester?

I'd say...somewhat equal..if not worse. The Hill District looks comparably beat up to the rest of the city. And it's in the process of getting gentrified.Worse than North Philly or Chester?![]()

It used to be a thriving place for blacks in the 40s & 50s...but then the city deliberately built the Civic Arena (which is now closed) to stunt the development of the area. If people want a good idea what it used to look like back then...I recommend the book "One Shot Harris" from prominent black photographer Teenie Harris. Tons of black businesses, community, unity...and it got fukked up nearly permanently. The death of the steel mills was the nail in the coffin.
Philadelphia has MONEY. Philadelphia has DIVERSITY. From the times I spent up in that city, it's more opportune for blacks than Pittsburgh by a long shot.
Philly is NOT the same as Pittsburgh. I've told people this for the longest.
Those sound like awesome achievements to me. Much continued success to youMakes me feel even more highly of myself that I am a Black male in NJ with a few college degrees and make more than double the national salary average..but I probably am lacking by coli standards because I do not have an IT cert and I'm only 6'0.![]()
