The internet has created a completely different response to releases, and therefore the atmosphere has a changed...People are talking about albums online...Here in Canada, there is NO atmosphere about this new Drake release...
And this is his home country...
Even the classics of the 90's would be forgotten, if they were released in this current technology driven environment...
One example is this, when you listen to interviews of rappers collaborating in the 90's and today, you can hear the difference between dudes in the 90s saying, "I bumped into MC ill at the Sound Factory, he had 5 hoes with him and smoking blunts, and he laced the track, and I went to get some more weed, when I returned, the whole studio was booming, I got into a zone, and freestyled my whole verse"...
Versus, today's dudes saying " I was touring in Japan, I finished the track, and I thought MC Faggo might sound good on it. I sent him an email, and he emailed me back the next day. That's how that track came about."
No "soul" what so ever...
