The aspects of these slaves, is always the brutality, when the true evil of slavery is nothing physical

if your a black and never read the autobiography of fredrick douglas, then you're not educated on your own history
and you're relying on hollywood to shape your psyche on what slavery was about

You have to understand how we were enslaved, it was mental brainwashing
and they continue to do it today with imagery as they've always done

If anything, it's not nearly as graphic onscreen as it actually was in real life. There's only a couple of scenes that are really visually graphic and/or gory...the majority of the film is about the psychological damage slavery causes.

There's nothing wrong with the portrayal. It's an honest historical film.

Our people have been conditioned since we were brought over here against our will, and these movies are nothing different. Not saying its a big conspiracy theory, but there is literally nothing positive about a black person going to see 12 Years a Slave. If that shyt taught you something about slavery in general, then you lost cause you should already know your history.

They got Brad Pitt playing the white hero and shyt. Black people, don't fall for this shyt man.
