It’s cliche for folks to say reach out when you’re depressed. If you’ve ever been depressed to the point of suicide, you would know that asking for that might as well be like asking them to climb Mt Everest. You think no one cares and that your burdens are too big.
Moreso, I would say if you see someone exhibiting depressive traits, check in with them and see what’s going on. Learn to observe behaviors. If you see them self medicating on hard drugs, talk to them.
but most people don’t know how to help. All that “it’s gonna be ok” and pull yourself up talk only goes so far.
