NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Not to be that guy but to be fair The Black Album was such a massive hit and classic album that nobody listened to that shyt thinking "lol he still mad about losing to Nas." If anything Jay laid out a perfect blueprint for Drake on how to respond: make better music. Jay clearly made better music than Nas at that time.

I thought Drake was going to try to do that. GNX is dope but could Drake have made a better album? Sure, potentially. But he didn't try and is spiraling now.
What are u talking about Jay clearly made better music than Nas at the time? God's Son and Lost Tapes >>>>>>> BP2 BY FAR. And Nas didn't even drop shyt in 03. So what are u talking about? And yes. In NYC. nikkas knew what the play was. nikka announced retirement to gain back favor from the public. What More Can I Say came out prior to the full Black Album. And that's the song he said the line on. So nikkas ain't even have a whole album to even compare at the time. This is a bad take my guy.

He did lie, there's evidence that pretty much everything he said was entirely fabricated by him and his team :dead:
on the other hand, kendrick did nothing but expose the truth that was already out there, available for everyone to see.

In that context, of course people believed Kendrick way more.
What did drake lie about?

Nas made better (studio album) music with God's Son compared to BP2. That was literally the last time he did that until what, 2012? SD came out a year after The Black Album and sounded terrible in comparison. I'm not even a fan of AG but it's objectively better than the Def Jam Nas albums from around that era (HHID, Untitled). By far.

This is literally the string of albums/time that separated them as artists in the minds of a lot of people. It's the period that popularized (not birthed) the talking points about beat selection. It caused an entire generation of kids to grow up thinking Jay was better, bigger, etc. I'm not saying I agree with that conclusion, I'm just saying it was a rough time to be a fan and Nas didn't truly get back to greatness until 2012.

I remember when What More Can I Say came out. Granted I wasn't in NY but that shyt was a massive "he's back" track to everyone I knew, rap forums, etc. Virtually every track we heard before the album dropped (except Change Clothes) was crazy. It was an undeniable classic record and that's when the pendulum swung. I vividly remember "wait until Nas responds to this shyt" sentiment because that's the timing I was on. And then we got Street's Disciple...

Why are we talking about an album that dropped AFTER the retirement? What are we talking about here? Leading up to the Black Album. Nas dropped better music. Both God’s Son and Lost Tapes. We are talking about Jay announcing retirement to gain back favor after he lost. What u are doing is moving goal posts. Cause what happened AFTER that has nothing to do with the reasoning. And I like Black Album over Blueprint. Also. HHID >>> Kingdom Come. Jay didn’t drop shyt in 04 and 05. So again. What are we saying? American Gangster was borderline classic. Yes. But he was hit or miss too. Cause u may not think Untitled was better than BP3 which I think it clearly is. Distant Relatives DEFINITELY is better without question. And both are better than Magna Carta. Jay fortunate he got WTT in between that time honestly. But LIG >>> MCHG, WTT, and 4:44. We not finna sit here and play my guy

Neither was your man, so stop caping for him.
Yeah that's wild that he takes what Drake said as believable, but Kendrick is lying.

They both lied more than likely, but Drake had too much dumb shyt attached to him that made it more believable and especially with all the fukkery happening now.

The I in Team
Back to back for the nikkas that didn't get the message
Back to back, like I'm on the cover of Lethal Weapon
Back to back, like I'm Jordan '96, '97
Whoa—very important and very pretentious
When I look back, I might be mad that I gave this attention
Yeah, but it's weighin' heavy on my conscience
Yeah, and fukk, you left The Boy no options
I wanna see my nikkas go insane
You gon' make me step out of my fukkin' frame
You gon' make me buy bottles for Charlamagne

I used to think he could avoid interviews… he might actually have to do one. This is…bad.

But…theres so many bombshells he has to avoid being asked about and I’m not talking about rap shyt. Theres a BUNCH of non-music shyt that are landmines for him.

It. Is. Bad.
