(Disclaimer: I don't count NL Top Dogg or Last Meal as NL albums...of course technically they were but those weren't southern albums)
Coming off the Death Row/West Coast run by the late 90s, I could never see Master P as anything more than a bootleg third-tier Cali reject...not to say he didn't drop some solid projects or that he didn't have classic songs but he never struck me as anything special
I was never that impressed by Ghetto D or the Im Bout It soundtrack
I was never impressed by C Murder Life after Death...I haven't been ever able to stomach an entire Mystikal or Silk album
I always liked Mac but he never held it down on a full length lp to me
Now...I haven't heard every NL album, and I wont pretend I was a huge fan of theirs, but Ive heard my fair share of NL music, and nearly two decades later, I cant think of a single NL album that even comes close to Young Bleed My Balls and My World..
Maybe it was cuz they weren't NO cats..maybe because the production was mostly done by Happy Perez and not entirely by Beats by the Pound but this is the ONLY no limit album I still fukks with HEAVY to this day
Its a top 5 personal favourite out the South along side Diary, 400 Degreez, Soul Food and Ridin Dirty (Outkast is a separate category)
On some days I honestly feel like this is my favourite southern album
