crazy that Taker kept that gimmick that "should" have had maybe a 3 or 4 year shelf life going 23 years later. .. that's impressive.

the remaining survivors teaming and wrestling later was also a dope concept I wouldn't mind seeing used again

To be honest, the 'Taker gimmick works today because of nostalgia. Could you imagine some NXT wrestler pulling the gimmick off today?

Nostalgia is what keeps most things that matter in wrestling afloat tho. .. Ric Flair is always gonna be Ric fukking Flair primarily for things he did nearly 30 years ago.

I actually could see the Undertaker gimmick doing alright in NXT IF you have a Mark Calaway type of talent to play it you can't just have "some wrestler do it" it'd be laughable, the man really doesn't get quite the due he's owed for how good he's been, he can talk.. the Big Evil era proved that. He can wrestle his ass off especially when in there with a little man that can work, and his attention to subtle things such as mannerisms and facial expressions made that character and still do so the rare times he's around now.
