Magic was probably at about 80%....Still good enough to cook nikkaz because he's arguably the GOAT when he's at 100.

He was force feeding bums. The most athletic player on that team was a rookie Elden Campbell.

Byron Scott and James Worthy were both battling injuries.Sam Perkins was a decent player, but he's not a "go to" player like the Lakers tried to turn him into during the Finals.

The Bulls beat a patchwork Lakers squad. The Lakers were on the decline, heavy.

The '85-'87 Lakers would've got in that ass

bums? them nikkas skated thru the playoffs that year...and it wasnt all magic either :skip:

no shyt breh...the lakers team wouldve been better if they were 6 yrs younger....:what:...way to go out on a limb :mjpls:

Old veteran wile & craftiness got them to the Finals.

Bulls were too much athletically....By sheer attrition/numbers, the Bulls physicality was just too much for the Lakers.

Not to mention the Lakers lost a lot of their experience/craftiness edge over the Bulls when Scott & Worthy went down.

If a limb is how you see it:yeshrug:

They beat a underachieving Rockets team(They're kinda like what the Wizards are nowGood enough to make the playoffs, but not a true contender)

An all offense/no defense/undersized Golden State team

And a Portland team that was still coming together. The Lakers had the experience/cohesiveness edge over that budding Blazers team. The same way that the late 80's Pistons had the Bulls number. It was certain lessons the Bulls had to learn before they were able to really form as a team and topple the Pistons.

I was a huge Lakers fan as a kid.I lived vicariously through that team. That team was one of the biggest overachievers in NBA history. They were definitely playing behind the 8 ball.

shyt just never really felt right with that team.Even when they made it to the Finals, it was like "I'll take it:leon:", but:patrice:

Pat Riley? Mike Dunveavy was the coach of the Lakers. Or are you refering to Pat as an analyst.

Also OP using the Lakers vs Celtics video game screen caption....lol
Pat Riley was an NBC contributor and said that the Lakers would win after that game.

When you're a fan of a team, it's a certain psychic connection you have with em...

That was the weakest Lakers NBA Finals team of the Magic Johnson era
