When did having a honest 1 on 1 fight (no weapons) go by the wayside?

As a lot of people on here can attest, it used to be you would fight, and then be done with it. No retaliation, it was either you get your ass beat or not. Get up, shake hands, and go about your day.

Why did this stop being a thing? Can people just not take an L and go about their day? Is it because of Social Media, and the chance that will show someone getting whipped and the public can see and comment?

The only undefeated fighter is the streets, you cannot win them all.

Only some of us older members can recall the era of "fair ones". Some of us might even remember becoming close friends with dudes that we threw hands with earlier.
