Jokes /Hotep conspiracies in threads about Black boys drowning?
Really?
Ain't nobody joking about 2 grown ass men drowning in some water. if they could swim obviously this thread wouldn't be created because they would still be here... So if that isn't the case, why would they be compelled to jump. :gucci:

I read this thread before watching the vid, so they were in fact men and not boys like I thought.

The video and member who vacations there have said that people jump from there occasionally, and that the timing of the jumps might have coincided with riptide.

Being able to swim wouldn't have prevented them from being pulled by the current and drowning.

Beaches issue warnings and close access to water in those types of situations

"Sacrifices?" Shameful.

Funeral Service held for Bulgin brothers who drowned at Jaws Bridge

October 1, 2022
They were remembered as God-fearing, ambitious young men who were on a path to greatness.

The funeral service for Tavaris and Tavaughn Bulgin, two Jamaican brothers who drowned at the Jaws Bridge on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts on August 14, was held today at the New Testament Church of God Convention Centre in St. Catherine.
Hundreds of mourners gathered to pay their respects.
They were remembered as God-fearing, ambitious young men who were on a path to greatness.

Many ministerial colleagues and friends of the Reverend Keith and Jacqueline Bulgin, the boys’ parents, attended the funeral along with former classmates and friends from Denbigh High School, where both brothers completed their secondary education.
Also in attendance were batchmates from the University of Technology, Tavaris’ alma mater, and the University of the West Indies, Mona, where Tavaughn would have graduated next month.
Political representatives were also present, including Member of Parliament for Clarendon South Eastern, Pearnel Charles Jr, and Mayor of Spanish Town, Councilor Norman Scott, who represented the Opposition leader.

During the service, Pearnel Charles Jr. highlighted the invaluable contributions both brothers made in their short time on earth.
“It is not often, it’s very unique for you to find two brothers in one family, both God-fearing, both ambitious, both on the right path both walking together…’” he said.
The MP added that he will contribute $200,000 to a foundation created in the young men’s honor.

The Bulgin brothers were big supporters of the Barcelona Football Club (FCB), as such their caskets were draped using the club’s flag.
A second thanksgiving service will be held on October 4 at the Hastings Baptist Church in Deeside in Trelawny.
The brothers died during their employment at a restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard as part of the popular summer work-and-travel program, which employs hundreds of Jamaican university students each year.
The Jaws Bridge, which claimed the lives of both siblings, is said to be a popular tourist attraction on the island and many people jump from it during the summer, despite a sign warning against it.

It actually would with proper training, but most people who can swim don't know how to navigate in riptides or undertows and would probably panic, wear themselves out, and drown.

I been paranoid about that shyt since I saw Jaws as a kid.

A few weeks ago I was camping on a lake shore and woke up early to go skinny dipping. Went out a distance I felt was good but when I looked up I had gone farther than expected. As I started swimming back I noticed I was fighting a current and realized that I didn't have the energy to front craw back to shore so I flipped onto my back and lazily frog swam back to shore but I was really out of breath going against the current. I grabbed onto the dock and caught my breath for a minute. It sank in that if I had not been swimming my whole life and knew how to conserve energy while treading water, I could easily have died. You gotta respect water. It does not care.

Bruh those riptides are no joke. I got caught up in one in my early 20s and about died. I started panicking at first then I remembered the news had a segment on it saying to try to swim parallel to the beach until the riptide weakens a bit. Ever since then I go no further than waist level when I get in the water.

This.

Navy taught of to tread water on your back to conserve your energy. Don't fight with the water to try and get back to the ship, relax and tread until you're rescued.
