Grammy nominated rapper 2 Chainz was arrested on Valentine’s Day for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, Maryland State Police Sgt. Marc Black confirmed to Yahoo! The “I’m Different” rapper was en route to a performance at the University Of Maryland Eastern Shore when he was pulled over at 9:15 p.m. for speeding.
Sgt. Black said 2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, was stopped on Route 50 on Rabbit Hill Road in Talbot. “A trooper observed [the vehicle driving] over 79 miles per hour and a traffic stop was conducted,” he said. “A strong odor of burned marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was [conducted]. Probable cause was conducted and it was found that Mr. Epps had paraphernalia on him with trace amount of marijuana.”
2 Chainz was taken to the Maryland Police Station barracks and issued a criminal citation for paraphernalia and possession of CVS and was released on his signature.
If found guilty, the rap star could face one year in jail or a fine of up to $1,000.
