Mao was the catalyst for the China you see today.
They have a lot of pride the Chinese, but Mao's management resulted in a famine resulting in close to 50 million or more deaths.
But beyond Mao, we do need that special type of leader.

The irony.
You make the assumption i am not informed about the resulting deaths of Mao's reign or some of the negative impacts it had. Make no mistake, it was Mao that unified China, and led it out of juat being a colony to a major international player.
Him being a necessary catalyst isn't just opinion alone, and shared amongst other Chinese.
