2013 might be the first year since 1956 that a BLACK artist has not had a Hot 100 #1 hit as a lead

Mainstream = white. Urban = Black. Why do u wanna be #1 in the white market? Wasnt that the beef in the movie The 5 Heartbeats when dude asked something to the likes of 'why do we have to cross over to them?...they don't cross over to us. Stop dik riding The Grammys and support The Soul Train and BET awards. Acknowledge when we are #1 in the R&B and Hip Hop charts as agood thing.

It was all good just 9 years ago... EVERY number 1 hit was by a black artist in 2004

You look at 04 and I knew every one of those songs inside and out. I haven't even heard half of the songs that went No 1 this year. The Robin Thicke song is the only one I've heard enough to be familiar with.

To me this is a good thing. We need to start, as the core audience, dictating what's what again. The consensus this year should be Albert Einstein.
