After the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, along with the E63 AMG, has been teased and partially unveiled, the smaller brother, the powerful C63 AMG, from the same model year, is now being placed into the spotlights for the first time, with a rumor which can’t be ignored. The guys at Autocar are saying that the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will get a whole new engine under its hood, which should replace the current naturally aspirated V8.

According to the source mentioned above, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will be powered by a new 4.0 liter V8 engine, which will produce a total output of 450 HP (335 kW) in its standard version, but in the top of the line variant, the unit should develop as much as 600 HP (447 kW). The new engine will be turbocharged and it should replace the naturally aspirated V8 found under the hood of the current C63 AMG. The power unit will be the same one used on the upcoming SLC too. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will get RWD and AWD versions and a right-hand drive variant. Additional details on the model remain unknown for the moment.

The AMG turbo V8s come damn close apparently

Still kind of sad though. NA is a dying breed. With the next M3 BMW won't have a naturally aspirated engine anywhere :merchant:

Eh, I've had enough high-revving NA engines for one lifetime. I'm old now, gimme dat torque :gladbron:!

Edit, wait really? No more NA anywhere in the fleet? That can't be right... can it????

x28i = 2.0 turbo 4
x35i = 3.0 turbo 6
x50i = 4.4 turbo 8

M5/6/X5/6 = 4.4 turbo 8

Next M3 = 3.0 turbo 6

Its a rizzy :sadcam:

Personally I still like the revvy snappy response of a screamer NA... only prob really is Bimmers are too damn heavy now so they need the torque. I am good though, Kawi has all the response I need :steviej:

the industry as a whole are moving away from v8's and up due to the cafe regulations. I think its a good thing because it forces these companies to make hp in other ways

I don't mind these turbo motors but NA engines are still the most fun for high performance vehicles IMO. At least the Americans are sticking with it. That LT1 is going to be a beast.

It's funny, I was all about turbo 4s. Started with the obvious 2.0L (4G63), but now having a 3.5L V6 and loving the roar they make, I find myself fieinding for a NA V8 now after test driving a 650i and S5 last month. The soundtrack they create is just :ohlawd:

I for one am all for the new Turbo platforms that are being released.

I still have my gas guzzling V8 in my garage to fall back on if I need to hear and feel some of that :ohlawd: on the weekends

If I had to pick one to live with though id be going with Audis NA V8 in the S5... Seems like a great car.

Trust me, I was considering many different whips till I went WOT in the V8 S5. Trying to close a deal on this as we speak. That sound is just embedded in my mind.

:whew:

Is this the exact one you're planning on getting or is this just something you pulled off the net?

If I were you i'd start looking into blacking out that window trim, grille, and mirrors. Give it a more aggressive look (not that it doesn't look tough as it sits)

You can get a good auto body shop to Vinyl it for cheap

Yeah that's the exact one, pic posted from the ad. Was looking for a black or white but it is tough enough finding a 2010+ with equipped with B&O, Nav and Audi Drive Select. Only one in Ontario. Most S5s here either have no options, or one of the 3 :laugh: Can't believe how many people bought the car base over here :smh:
