LSU doesn't have the offense and losing Chavis will hurt more than people realize. Miles is on a slow downtrend. I guess if they find a magic bag of beans to get a decent QB and some luck anything is possible, but I don't see it.

Tenn is still a year away. Depth will take its toll. However, it is the East, which is the Shasta Cola to the West's Coke...so nothing would surprise me really.

The West is a meatgrinder. All 7 teams have talent and can beat you up in different ways.

not it won't. LSU's defense was made by the talent of the players NOT chavis. they still have talent. they'll be dominant.

Kevin Steele switching to some 3-4 will have an affect, and KS's last game as a DC in 2011 was being utterly destroyed in every way possible by WVA at Clemson in the Orange Bowl. Gave up a lot of points that year. I don't think he is in the same category as Chavis at all. Talent alone doesn't overcome that on D these days.

UPDATE: changed some of my predictions now that fall camp is up and runnning.

big movers
  • Texas A&M - I'm alot higher on them now than I was a month ago. Their schedule and their recruiting the last 3 years have convinced me. They'll be right there with LSU and Alabama for who wins the West this year. I give the slightest of edges to LSU still.
  • Tennessee - I'm even higher on Tennessee than I was before. The play of the true freshmen in fall camp has increased my hope in their performance. I now have Tennessee winning the SEC championship over LSU and making the 4 team playoff.
big loser
  • Auburn - I'm selling them. Everyone is so high on them because of the Muschamp move. Still doesn't change the fact they lack the talent on defense. Also their overall talent is not as good as Alabama, A&M, and LSU. Plus they're schedule is pretty hard. I think all that leads to a pretty dissapointing 3 loss season for Auburn where they really aren't a factor in the 3 team race between Alabama, A&M, and LSU.

Auburn has maybe the best QB and Wr in the conference tho. They'll be a factor. I think it's still LSU. Because of how good we been hearing Harris has looked. Also, Derrius Guice might have superstar potential.

nikkas need to stay off the sec channel... It'll come down to lsu and Texas a&m vs Florida or Georgia in the championship... Tennessee has no depth... Alabama lost toooo much from last year team and that secondary is :mjlol: and auburn defense still gone give up alot of fukkin points.. Even after they offense runs through teams smh.. Dpoy will be Myles Garrett or the end from Georgia and the freshman of the year will be Bryan cowart..
