Casual 76ers fan question

I see a lot of talk about Lowry coming over this summer.

He a North Philly breh so I've always wanted him to succeed but I never watched him in Toronto and thought 'Damn now thats a player I want on my team'

It didnt feel like him and DeRozan were playing together, it felt like they were taking turns.

What yall brehs think would Lowry to the Sixers be good for the squad?

Lowry would be a great pickup for them, I feel like they'd make the playoffs with him. A lot of people don't like the idea of signing him, but 4 years isn't long for a team that still has picks coming their way from lottery teams, they could draft his eventual replacement next year or the year after all while getting their young players experience in the playoffs.

I was a little worried the paint would get crowded with him. But Im thinking about it mlre now and I kind of see it. I agree they make playoffs with him.

A four year deal is an 'expiring contract' trade asset in yr 3 right?

Do you think it changes the draft strategy?

Lowry has shot 39% and 41% from three the last two seasons, I wouldn't worry about spacing with him, and the fact he's had to play off the ball at times because Demar can't shoot would help him fit in with Simmons.

It might be a trade asset by then, but I wouldn't sign him with that in mind, I'd just rock with him for the duration of the contract knowing he's not in the long term plans but will help with short term goals of making progress towards a winning team. I'd definitely draft a PG, like even if I plan on signing him I'd get Ball if he's still on the board, or I'd draft Sexton next year.

They have gotten a top 5 pick the last 4-5 years. It's time to end the draft strategy.

Yeah Lowry would be coming off the books at the same time everybody except embiid get raises so the timing is good

He fits in well with that team because he can create and play off simmons

Still wouldn't go as far to say playoffs considering embiid and simmons have played like 30 pro games in 4 seasons between the two

Still don't understand why they gave noel away like that

Lowry is a monster. His only issue is getting dinged up. Dude has been a regular season assassin the last 2 years. Easily a Tier 2 PG.
