Let me start off by saying I failed you guys....I should've had this thread up since January :to:

But, I'm still here to hit you with the facts that you can use to 1 up your friends and impress that political shorty you're trying to take to HH at busboys and poets

Background/links that you NEED to know before going through this thread:

State legislative elections, 2019 - Ballotpedia
In the 50 states, there are 99 state legislative chambers altogether. The general state legislative elections for 2019 will take place on November 5, 2019, in Mississippi, New Jersey, and Virginia. The general election in Louisiana will take place on November 16, 2019.

As of March, 44 state legislative special elections have been scheduled or held in 18 states. Between 2011 and 2018, an average of 77 special elections took place each year.

Heading into the 2019 election, the Republican Party is coming off a substantial loss of seats during a major election for the first time in more than a decade. Republicans across the country collectively lost 349 seats during the 2018 state legislative elections, marking the third time during the last four presidencies that the party of the sitting president lost seats during that president's first midterm election. Democrats lost 702 seats during Barack Obama's (D) first midterm and 488 seats during Bill Clinton's (D) first midterm. Only George W. Bush (R) saw a net gain of seats during his first midterm with Republicans winning 110 seats.

Dems lacked the urgency to vote at the pools in 2019, unlike 2017 and 2018. Guess people want to wait for 2020 to turn things around, but at the same time, the lack of awareness from social media is to blame.
