2021 Maserati MC20 to Be Powered by All-Italian Twin-Turbo V-6

The upcoming MC20 will be a mid-engine reminder that Maserati exists. Rather than a successor to the ultrarare, hyperexpensive MC12, the MC20 is a run-of-the-mill six-figure Italian sports car offered in both coupe and convertible forms. Maserati promises that the MC20 marks the start of a new phase in the brand's history, which it desperately needs if its vehicles are going to be relevant again.

MC20 mules appear to take cues from the Alfa Romeo 4C, which makes sense, as this Maserati could help amortize FCA's development costs for that Alfa's carbon-fiber tub. The first MC20s will use a new twin-turbo V-6 rumored to make more than 600 horsepower, with torque routed through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. We expect a hybrid eventually, and Maserati says a battery-electric version will come in time.

Maserati originally planned to reveal the MC20 in May, but has postponed the unveiling until September due to the coronavirus pandemic. The cabrio should follow in 2021. We estimate prices will begin around $160,000.

their sales have been dipping for awhile.. and seems like they havnt learned.. Why buy a Ghibili, for $70-80k when for that price you can get a real nice almost top end benz(e class or a year old S class), audi(a7+) or bmw and they have unique designs and most importantly high end interior while the ghibili for that price shares the Chrysler 300 interior (no bs)

and look at this here as another example..

for $160,000 you could buy a much prettier, faster and more widely known car so unless you are some super car enthusiast or dumb with your money, which most who can afford a car like this arent, theirs no real market for this

it needs to be almost half that price other wise it will rot and probably be the final straw for maserati if they are banking on this


this is for like 60 year old people who think they know what makes them look cool again but the game has long passed them by so they just end up with a coupe that a 22 year old hoe couldnt tell if it was $60,000 or $160,000 L's all around if you buy this might as well save money and buy a 2020 corvette, $160,000 better be going towards a benz S63 AMG or some shyt


be in the same price point as Audi R8's and think you can compete with a shyttier looking and under performing car brehs

same price as Audi R8, Benz S63 AMG coupe, and only slightly less than entry McClaren, $30k more expensive than BMW M8 and I8, $40k more expensive than Audi RS7, $60k more expensive than Porsche 911
