55% (35) of the 63 cities I've got info on, saw declines in their homicide rates from 2021; 41% (26) of the 63 cities saw increases; two cities (Albuquerque and Albany) had the same number of homicides from '21...

At least 6 cities tied or set record numbers in homicides for a single year: Albuquerque, Tacoma, Albany, Portland, St Paul, and Raleigh...

So the pandemic-era increases of '20 and '21 appear to be coming down nationwide, at least for one year...

IMMIGRANT TETHERS
southern and midwest cities are mad fukking ugly from an aesthetic stand point. I have a theory that that is why their murder rate per capita are so high. having to live in an over size cud da sac city with too much parking lot makes you want to kill somebody.
Oakland saw a decrease and it still at 27.7 :francis: that is too much for a beautiful city. hopefully ugly ass Stockton has the title for the highest in California

Virginia Beach nice :ehh:

That's with a 50% increase over 2021, too...

Virginia Beach may be my favorite city in the country, it's certainly my favorite place I've ever lived, and I'm candid about hoping I can eventually return and live my life out there...

I always say this, being a shooter or jackboy or dealing anything at a high level is transferable anywhere, nikkas clapping shyt up in The Beach aren't different from nikkas clapping shyt up in Memphis. If I live somewhere in The Beach that sees multiple shootings and someone got smoked on my block, that isn't different from a person experiencing the same in Milwaukee...

The contrast is in the makeup of the cities where poverty and violence isn't widespread throughout VB the way it is in many other places, its easier to know the shooters in VB because there isn't as many of them, by proxy of less violence and violent areas. There are some hoods around VB but the wildest hood in the city, which is Diamond Springs/Baker corridor in NWVB, isn't anything remotely close to what the wildest hoods in Memphis look like...

Pharrell is from Atlantis low income apartments, that whole area (Atlantis/Norfolk Ave/Atlantic Park) has a history locally and is wild by Beach standards, it certainly is a little sketch and there's some drama around there, it ain't nothing comparable to what "wild" in places like Oakland or Cleveland look like...

So it's easy to avoid the hot areas in The Beach, and it really isn't that much different in Raleigh and Charlotte, either. New York and other cities too...
