2025 Vikings QB situation is…interesting. Is a Herbert trade probable?

One of the main benefits of a rookie QB contract window is being able to stack the deck as much as you can and go for it.

Seems like people are being very obtuse watching Minnesota do that (especially with their moves this offseason) and then ask "why would they hand this roster to an unproven kid?", swapping out the bloated Cousins contract for a dirt cheap QB room is why any of this is happening. Trusting your evaluation and betting on the kid to hit is a part of that process.

Which is totally fine, but we've literally seen on more instance of bad to mehhhh QB play fukking up a teams potential championship window. A perfect example of that is what's happening now with the Browns and Watson.

He shouldn't be the one QB on that roster as it'd be doing a disservice to those other guys and how they performed last year if McCarthy can't repeat even close to what Darnold just did for them.

I think this is a win/win. Chargers aren't gonna eclipse the other teams in the AFC, and you're not getting the most out of Herbert anyways with the style of offense they run and with a rookie WR being your only legitimate weapon. JJ is promising and just won a Natty with Harbaugh. The opportunity for QB/Coach to reunite in the pros doesnt come around too often. Vikings have a ready-made roster and Herbert would finally have everything he needs to be fully unleashed.

Agreed. Clocks ticking on Herbert. 6 years an hes accomplished 0. Harbaugh not gonn put up with that much longer, like when he cut bait with Alex Smith and went with Kaepernick instead

Although the difference is Kap was drafted before Smith played a down for Harbaugh. Smith also wasn't given a big extension by the 9ers before Harbaugh came.
