Wearing Lions gear when it wasn't cool
I honestly don't see how Republicans can hide on this. That's why they are surprised that Democrats are actually showing a spine on this.

Republicans in the thread saying that the lack of subsidies is why the ACA is bad.
Yes, everyone has to kick in for subsidized healthcare to work, hoss.
God, American hyper-individualism is cancer.
Out of curiosity I just had to Google the prices for humira in other countries, it looks like it's only 10 bucks in the UKIt's been asked since before Republicans said no way no how to single payer, but the question's not just why is insurance expensive, but why does anything cost this much? Humira cost over $6K a month. That's the insurance's negotiated price. If you didn't have insurance, it's almost $15K a month. With as many people worldwide taking Humira, wtf does it need to cost that much? Pharmaceutical companies should profit if they produce them but got damn. And a lot of insurance companies dropping coverage for it next year and forcing you on biosimilars.
Most of everyone's premiums (not just the ACA) probably going up at least 20% next year and people's coverage gonna get worse. This should force change but they'll eventually just extend the subsidies and we'll keep on keeping on.
*Btw all these people on Ozempic/Monjaro/etc to lose weight is one of the main things driving the increases.

It's all a scam man. Like your copay for that $6K monthly shots might be $1000. Abbvie will cover the copay for you so it's basically zero out of pocket for you. And that $1000 counts towards your insurance's Out of pocket max for the year. Once you hit that, insurance still has to cover the medicine for the rest of the year. If your out of pocket max is $7500, Abbvie basically just eats that to make sure you get it cause they know they still gonna get $70k from insurance anyway. It's legal so I know it's not a scam for real, but just shows how fukked up our system is.Out of curiosity I just had to Google the prices for humira in other countries, it looks like it's only 10 bucks in the UK![]()
Yep. A lot of medication is produced in India for pennies on the dollar. Then pharmaceuticals companies will mark the shyt up. The profit margins are ridiculous.Out of curiosity I just had to Google the prices for humira in other countries, it looks like it's only 10 bucks in the UK![]()
