Based on responses online, lot of folks are planning on just doing this. Those that can’t afford to even do that are just planning to either make emergency room visits and say fuk the bill, sue me or I’ll just live with my ailment and die. Just complete bullshyt. Cheat code for real is to get a W2 job with a major corporation and get those supplemented insurance benefits. shyt, be a janitor…you still get much cheap(er) rates.

Well that’s one of our issues. Other countries have much tighter consumer protections so companies go HAM in capitalist America to make up the profit. We have been subsidizing drug prices for the rest of the world for decades. The whole industry needs an overhaul from how research is funded, universal drug pricing, how much insurance covers for drugs , etcOut of curiosity I just had to Google the prices for humira in other countries, it looks like it's only 10 bucks in the UK
I would imagine that most folks that lost their parents insurance coverage will forego it until a serious health issue or until they find a career and corp that is offering cheap insurance.

I currently pay 125 a paycheck and that covers 2 adults and 3 kids in southern ca. I have solid coverage too. The amount is so low it’s something I don’t even budget for. I hope this doesn’t change lol but the company hasn’t mentioned much yet.

I know fully retired people that work a few shifts at starbucks just for the health insurance so there is a way. There is a weird gap between medicare eligibility at 65 and early retirees. Private plans for them in that 50-65 age range are like 10-15k per year for the bad plans.
