BROOKLYN, NY — Two men posing as city housing workers stole more than $200,000 in jewelry from a woman inside her Brooklyn home earlier this month, police said.
The men, posing as New York City Housing Authority employees, robbed the 25-year-old woman around 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 11 at the Cypress Hills Houses near Sutter and Euclid Avenues, according to police.
Once inside, the men displayed firearms and proceeded to rob the apartment, fleeing with about $7,000 in cash and roughly $200,000 worth of jewelry, police said.
The woman was not injured during the robbery, and police were still searching for the suspects as of Tuesday afternoon.
One of the suspects was last seen wearing a green sweatshirt and sweatpants, while the other had on a blue sweater, police said. Surveillance images released by the NYPD show the men entering the building.
