That happens with a lot of people who reject their own cultures at first.
I see many kids from the caribb ean who grew up in environments where they were flooded with other cultures living in America.But then as they grow older they start to appreciate their own more from being around family
(you know when your friends start to dissapear and all you have left is family) but their counterparts of the opposite sex find them to be not in touch with their roots enough to be with. I know 4 people that are like that. A guyanese, one haitian and 2 jamaicans.
They went through their 20s only associating with yankees and all the sudden now they wanna show up at caribbean Carnival and we all looking at the like
They grew up mostly around yankees but now, in thier 30's they're trying to rediscover their roots only to find out that the caliber of men/women they want from their same cultural backgrounds are more into men/women that are more in touch with their culture.
Take notes,
@observe . Cant say
i didnt warn you. When you're 35 and holler at that hot latina mami but cant dance to salsa and merengue you're gonna regret it. Learn your family's culture, son. You may not be into it as much as some others but learn it
