Nah breh, I'm an ethnic minority, I don't support most of my country's foreign policies. But I'm an military aficionado and I won't miss any chance to get close to real weapons and share experience with soldiers.

I was stationed at papua new Gunea for a short stint during a gap year for reservists. What your government has been doing to the papuans is messed up, theyve displaced/killed millions of the original austroloid inhabitants and moved a million of indonesians from shanty towns into papua as a way to consolidate power which has driven many Papuan coastal communties into the jungles. What does the general population of indonesia think of your governments actions in Papua?

Unfortunately most of them don't care or thoroughly brainwashed by government propagandas. They saw military operations in Papua as defence against "foreign backed separatism", many saw Papuans as backward and need to be "civilized" by Indonesian culture. And as in most colonialism there are Papuans that support the goverment because of fear, hoping better treatment for being loyal, or completely brainwashed.

These Papuans were arrested for attending a meeting that according to goverment "containing separatist agenda". Ironically this is what Dutch goverment used to do to Indonesian freedom fighters.

This guy is Frans Kaisiepo, during Indonesian war of independence he became infatuated by indonesia Nationalism through befriending Indonesia fighters and convinced that Papua should join Indonesia to stand against Imperialis .When the first appointed Governor of Papua, Elieser Jon Bonay symphatize with independence movement the Indonesia goverment replaced him with Frans Kaisiepo in which he proceed to make Papua part of Indonesia during the Act Of Free Choice which earn him awards. I don't know whether he ever regret his choice.

I always shake my head when my goverment aways among the first to condemn Israel when a Palestinian teen get shot (RIP) but act like what they do in Papua, East Timor, and Aceh are no big deal and say foreign nations should mind their own business.

Here they burning communist flag to celebrate the destruction of Indonesian Communist Party in which the armed force killed almost 500,000 men.

500,000 during communist purge
300,000 in East Timor
150,000 - 400,000 in Papua
and none of the perpetrators ever punished (some of them even become national heroes)

And the fukked up thing is, Im told most of these regions had less than a million people in it, so we are talking about genocide. But nobody talks about it like its genocide because most countries in the region only care about maintaining good relations with indonesia and because theyre "black savages"
