Get a perm and slick it back into a pompadour
I used to have an afro in high school. I permed it once, I looked like Andre 3000. LOL.

The key is to pick it, maybe use to some moisturizing spray to keep yo hair soft.

This thread makes me wish I wasn't rocking the caesar fade right now.

You condition it daily? I only condition it in the shower, then apply leave in. It's literally no maintenance, I don't touch my hair for 3 days.

ya, that's what a homegirl of mine had suggested to me make sure my hair was strong

i saw on youtube though that you can just condition it, apply leave in conditioner while detangling it and it can look fresh on my texture of hair... had me like :wow:

imma try it out at some point.... otherwise imma just get a taper fade like every other nikka and call it a day :yeshrug:

The thing about no maintenance hair is your hair will be healthier and stronger. The less manipulation and maintenance, the stronger it'll be. My hair got a little lifeless from the roller sets I was doing regularly for a few months, my husband doesn't like it, so I went back to my natural hair and my hair looks a lot healthier and better. I just wash and go, then I leave it alone for a few days.

First off what's your texture? Large fro should mean you already know how to take care of it.
The longer hair is usually the more maintenance required.

Like me I'm on a low maintenance reg, so I mostly keep my hair up. Or in two braids/twists.

coarse and thick :sas1:... probably 4c? yup, it was easy to maintain as it was growing cuz i could put some oil and pick it in less than a minute. flash to 1.5+ years later and its tedious.

yeah my ex would twist them up for me every now and then, but that's deaded now

honestly if just putting leave in conditioner in it can work with my hair (like the pics someone posted above), im just gonna do that from now on :ld:

I don't have good hair either, my hair is kinky as hell in the back so I spritz water in it to keep it moisturized. You don't need to keep putting product on your hair, makes your scalp hella itchy. Your hair will grow hella long the less you do anything to it.
