OKC "attacked the basket"...but they had all of 6 points in the paint more than the Spurs:mjlol:
I seen someone else say this too - attacking the basket doesn't always equal out to scoring in the paint. Points in the paint won't tell you how many times they drove to the hole and got fouled and went to the free throw line.

Even Pop said during the timeout, drive and kick it out when you see Serge. He knew they weren't getting shyt inside.
Exactly.

First you had dudes said Ibaka wouldn't be that much of a difference, now Ibaka has got dudes tricking themselves believing it's a conspiracy because they can't possibly grasp the idea that arguably the league's best rim protector is shutting down the paint.

:banderas:

Serge came back & all of a sudden Parker has a terrible game since he can't just get to the rim whenever he wants without a challenge. But Serge is overrated & would have been a nonfactor.

but it does call into question the narrative that the Thunder attacked the basket relentlessly and the Spurs settled for long jumpshots all night.

if that were true: the PIP differential would look like something like this: Denver Nuggets vs. Sacramento Kings - Box Score - January 25, 2012 - ESPN

It does put it into question, but you don't completely rule it out as if points in the paint is the be-all and end-all. There's been no attempt to weigh in how many times OKC were fouled on drives in the act and not in the act of shooting. All that box score tells me is that Denver were helluva lot better at completing in the paint than the Kings were - judging by the shot chart, there isn't much difference between them in how often they attacked the basket.

Didn't get a chance to see the game fully. Went to the beach for Memorial Day. Not too pressed about last game. We actually played well. Just have to keep them off the line. I liked the zone.

fair enough, but my point of contention is the refs were far more generous with those whistles on one end of the court. :mjpls:
