where my nikka P tho?

Lol. I mean it was a posse cut so they definitely shot scenes at various places for dolo and then put it together, which i always figured watching the video. Isnt uncommon at all. The costs otherwise would be too expensive. Gotta think that all the cats on the record was blazing too so they prolly had hectic schedules too. But i wish Canibus was there too since it was shoy on the east.

This was my favorite record (with Canibus) of late '97 early '98. I had these black labels from Rock & Soul and cut them to death.

I never got the ski goggles, tho.

Lol, ski goggles. I still dont know where that trend came from. Cuz i remember seeing it from at least '96-'97, but who was the first artist who made it poppin (if there were any)? I get the metaphor some use behind them, but i still dont know who first started rockin 'em.

NY trend. Started in 93-94. I was wearing em because of Kurious Uptown Hit video in 94

LL said what I've been saying about "freestyle". this "Freestyle means off the top of the head" isn't true. Everyone from KRS to BDK to now LL have said the same thing. Freestyle just means a style that's free of a story or a point. It's a rhyme that's just about whatever because back then verses used to have structure and were directly about something and usually in story form.

i've heard it both ways but from what i can gather the "verse about nothing" is the original meaning of "freestyle". i don't know where the "off the top of the dome" style came from but it's been blown out of proportion. off top is more of a showmanship type thing, cats like Supernat who do it are amazing IMO but i'm not gonna get down on an MC for spitting a written as a "freestyle". cypher/battle they're different situations as well.
