Four people were killed in less than 12 hours in the city starting Tuesday afternoon, including a Bronx man who was beaten to death in his home by a baseball bat-wielding intruder, police and sources said.
The grisly streak kicked off on Staten Island Tuesday afternoon when a gunman opened fireon Park Hill Avenue near Sobel Court in Clifton at about 4 p.m., police said.
A 20-year-old man was shot in the head and killed in the incident, which sources suspect may have been drug-related.
The bloodshed continued a few hours later in the Bronx when a man was knifed to death less than a block from the 47th Precinct stationhouse on Laconia Avenue in the Edenwald section at about 8 p.m., police said.
The victim, identified by sources as 37-year-old Charles Ampofo, allegedly got into an argument with the suspect, 51-year-old Curtis Clay, over “disrespect,” sources said.
