When your looks are your only asset, any level of drop off is noticeable and the game will treat them accordingly.

The reality is that people don't really take care of themselves, get into their 40s while single and realize they are not a catch. So they start having mid life crisis-type freak outs while trying to appeal to younger people. We used to think about this exclusively in relation to older men, out of touch going after young chicks. But it's a lot of fat and unattractive women out here doing the same with young men. I'll give women credit in the sense that there are probably more attractive/fit/etc 40yo women trying this than handsome/fit/etc 40yo men trying it. But we can't judge this off exceptions to the rule. Most of these chicks are not attractive and they have shytty personalities.
