i just watched this

KRS1 be speakin some good stuff.
i dont understand the part when he said to "Just be you" then later he said "when you make a song think about what other people are going through"
is it
"do what you feel"
or
"do what others feel"?
I've watched just over half of it so far. He's speaking in a lot of metaphors here but I see what he's saying. But yeah like Big Mel said about the part you mentioned just be you but be mindful of others, so pretty much saying be yourself but trying to encourage people to think of others. Any artist that thinks of others immediately becomes a better artist, if it's all ME ME ME you are a lot less relatable, and I don't even necessarily mean just from a concious positive perspective, even if someone was making love or sex songs, if it was just I want you to do this to me etc and no thought for the woman's needs then the females won't enjoy it as much. People do this in different ways. Pac was superb at it, he would put himself in the place of others "for just a moment I was trapped in the pain, Lord come and take me, 3 nikkas violated, they chased then they raped me, even though it wasn't me, I could feel the pain" I'm paraphrasing but he often put himself in all kinds of positions an spoke directly to others. This is one of the reasons he is the most loved rapper of all time.
