Lists are never fun

5. It is not true that you have to wait 24 hours before filing a missing person report.

6. Frankenstein was not the name of the monster in the novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley; rather it was the surname of the monster’s creator, Victor Frankenstein. Come on seriously? People refer to it as Frankensteins monster all the time, but these new kids are illiterate and uneducated

20. Not only are bats not blind, they are also capable of navigating using echolocation. 6th grade science

22. Humans and dinosaurs (other than birds) never coexisted. The two missed each other by 63 million years. People really think/thought this?

26. Hair and fingernails do not continue to grow after a person dies. Rather, the skin dries and shrinks away from the bases of hairs and nails, giving the appearance of growth 10 grade biology at best

31. There is no reason that lightning would not be able to strike the same place twice; if there is a thunderstorm in a given area, then objects and places which are more prominent or conductive (and therefore minimize distance) are more likely to be struck. 6th grade public school science

33. Toilet waste is never intentionally released from an aircraft. All waste is collected in tanks which are emptied on the ground by toilet waste vehicles. Who honestly thinks this?

34. Searing meat does not seal in moisture. It is done for the flavor.--- This is just wrong....first of all the purpose of searing isn't to lock in meat, but for presentation, taste and as an added bonus it does seal in juices. Most people would never know because they take the burger from the grill to the plate directly to the bun then bite into it, same with steak or chicken, you're supposed to let meat rest for 5-10 minutes, a lot longer if you are doing a roast or so.

42. Adding salt to water will not make it boil faster. it was never intended to make water boil faster, its a cooking technique for noodles to make them cook better and not taste 'plain' especially better if you make your own noodles. People have seriously never heard of sciocca before. But want to call themselves lovers of food and dining.
