What I'm saying is the color gamut and the resolution is 2 different things. It is real 4K but it doesn't have the color gamut to produce true HDR.

All them looked the same but the pricing different, and then they try and slip in sound bar pricing in some of the pricing cards
But maybe the tv manufactures set it up this way on purpose

Prolly a seasonal worker. Or sometimes u just get people who didn't know shyt about TVs or Home Theater before they went there and they just learn the basic technical stuff and have no idea how to break down and explain the differences in simple and relatable ways.
With that content, you probably wouldn't be able to see any differences directly associated with HDR. That said, a flagship model would most likely offer better brightness and colors, which would be further enhanced when HDR comes into play. Bottom-line: buy the best (size and picture quality) that you can afford for now and the future.
The KS7000 does actually have a wide color gamut (experimentally verified), but a key part of HDR is brightness so the 7000 HDR would not look as good as that of the KS8000, as Samsung claims the KS8000 delivers brightness up to 1000 nits.
Marketing/advertisement was never and will never be geared towards making an informed consumer. Example UHD vs SUHD. Samsung could have easily said UUHD or something stupid like that instead of SUHD, for example. I guarantee that if you were to ask ten different Samsung individuals, you'd most likely hear 10 different explanations about the "S."
TVs are pretty price sensitive purchases. The manufacture wants you to spend what you're comfortable spending and not be able to discern the difference between models. Usually the top two or three models are actual quality sets with the full features. Once you go below that they really start skimping on the features and you're getting models they cut corners on.
