I don’t think Nakatani was expecting Inoue to be so patient and defensive early. His plan most likely was to see if he can counterpunch him on his way in if he got reckless but Inoue basically gave him nothing.

Had to press the fight once he knew he was falling behind and take more chances. Had some nice success doing so but it’s just so risky rushing Inoue because of that punching power.

I’d honestly love to see Inoue at 126 for two fights before retiring. I think actually making 122 might be more effort at this stage of his life. That guy trained his ass off and came in at 122 even. Skillfully I think he’s elite at 126.

Nakatani honestly lost no stock and should probably move to 126 after a couple years himself.

Center self, inner self
if there was a time for him to go up it should be now though
Yup. Its time to move up. Its looking like Divino vs Figueroa, Carrington vs Leo. From what I saw the Espinoza vs Figeroa fight isnt happening until September, which is a shame because I think that division needs to be settled by the end of the year. I could see inoue moving up in the fall.

Inoue's quickness and reflexes are just incredible. His ability to jump in and out of range even against a bigger and longer fighter is special. Absolutely a joy to watch.

Nakatani took way too long to get going unfortunately. Wish we could have seen more like rounds 9-12

I was shocked how Inoue was just standing there whole fight to be hit... and didn't get hit that much even when Junto decided to throw hands.
Junto did catch Inoue with a body shot here and there that made him back up but really wasn't all that bothered.

3 decisions in a row for Monster... father time creeping? Or hes fighting smarter to go up to 126?

Monster :blessed:

Loved the fight. Nakatani smiling at Inoue after he avoided two massive punches and then threw a lightning overhead right was insane. The crowd watching in slow mo and then applauding them was so fukking awesome.

Junto going on the offense for those 2 and a half rounds was :whoo: you could tell Naoya wanted to set up a counter but Nakatani simply didn't let him. The adjustment in round 11 to go back on the front foot and avoid the ropes was :banderas: he obliterated any chance Junto had.

prolly a combination of both..i think the cardenas knockdown gave him some clarity not to wade in so reckless and to make adjustments to his defense

if there is a rematch nakatani wont take 5 rounds to get started for sure lol
That's the interesting thing about a rematch. Junto realized he actually can back up Inoue and avoid getting killed, he also realized that Monster's speed is special and waiting to land big stuff is too big of gamble and you end up losing to many rounds.

But on the other hand. Inoue took less than three rounds to figure out what not to do and how to take away Nakatani's initiative and land not only cleanly, but powerful stuff.

A rematch probably has a knockdown and might end with KO.

I had him winning 5 going into the last round, there were at least 2 rounds that’s nothing really happened that could’ve went either way

Thank you. I saw 3 rounds where there nothing happening and could have went either way. That's why I have the fight closer. When you have those 50/50 type of rounds, fans and judges will automatically give it to the favorite, giving them the benefit of the doubt for whatever reason. It was on Junto though to "take it from the champion" so it was his fault in losing this fight I guess. I had the fight 7-5 Inoue, possibly a Draw
