5 Reasons why Ruthless Aggression Era was better than the Attitude Era

Nowadays, it’s hard to discuss WWE without someone saying “Boy, Attitude Era was the best and this PG Era sucks. WWE should bring back The Attitude Era”. But Ruthless Aggression Era is hardly ever mentioned and is often overlooked.

To me, the Ruthless Aggression Era was professional wrestling at its purest form. Why? Because it was fresh, aggression was the new breed, Divas matches were entertaining, new stars were rising up. Overall Ruthless Aggression Era was more about professional wrestling than anything else. The Ruthless Aggression Era gave us some of the greatest wrestling and stories in the WWE history, but it is not as celebrated a period as it deserves to be.

Here is a look at the reasons why the Ruthless Aggression Era was better than The Attitude Era.

I don't think Ruthless Aggression was "better" but I do agree that the in-ring product was superior. The Smackdown! 6 days with Paul Heyman running the show were crazy. SD! was must see TV at that point and you can't say the same now.

With that said, a lot of the characters sucked. Mordecai, Luther Reigns, Kenzo Suzuki, Heidenreich, etc.. awful stuff. Then you had guys like Jindrak who had good physiques but were no personality having muthafukkas.

The thing about the Attitude Era is that even if the wrestling aspect wasn't great, the story lines kept you glued. The CHARACTERS were off the charts. Everyone could talk. Everyone was over.

If your a fan of entertainment and interesting characters then you probably side with the attitude era

If you're a fan of pure wrestling then you probably side with the ruthless aggression era.

Personally I side with ruthless aggression, only because that was the era I grew up with

1.) Ruthless agression era is overrated as fukk ratings took a big dip during this era
2.) Triple H was in every main event and there was no Rock, Austin or Hogan
3.) Divas division attitude era > Trish and Lita in their prime also had better valets
4.) Brand split sucked, two world champions? you had watered down ppv's because of the brand split not all the stars were on there
5.) Weaker characters and story lines so nobody cared about the in-ring action
