In the aftermath of a viral video that sparked internet ire, rapper 50 Cent has decided to make good by donating $100,000 to Autism Speaks.
The show of goodwill comes after the “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” singer posted a controversial clip to Instagram and Twitter Sunday, showing him making fun of a 19-year-old autistic airport janitor Andrew Farrell.

In the clip shot at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, the rapper accused the teen of being "high as a mother---er" — but as Farrell’s father later explained, the Kentucky native is slightly autistic and suffers from social anxiety and hearing impairment.
50 Cent removed the video — though it was later reposted to YouTube — and apologized, but Farrell’s family urged him to show his sincerity with a donation to autism advocacy groups.
“All we are asking is for 50 Cent to donate to Autism Speaks,” Andrew Farrell’s father Kent told the Daily News.
Thursday afternoon, the rapper came through.
"I want to turn this misunderstanding into an understanding. There are people that are ignored, mistreated and neglected with disabilities that need our support,” he said in a statement released to the Daily News.
“Today, I have made a donation of $100,000 to this worthy cause through Autism Speaks. I am calling on my fellow musicians, actors, entertainers and all others who may not have fully considered this cause to join together to help in any way they can."
Another celeb who jumped on the cause was the publicly reviled “pharma bro” Martin Shkreli, who pledged to donate $10,000.
