Its crazy that 50 has literally not taken any time off in 10 years. He's pretty much been recording and releasing songs non-stop since he came out.

And he wonders why his act got stale...

him recording continuously wasnt his problem. :pacspit: recorded like a maniac and them makaveli joints which were all but throwaways to him were still quality.

curtis' problem was he was older and in his prime when grodt dropped and the steady drop off was natural. imagine if dirk was a rookie when dallas won their title and now we have this guy whose just another player w/ occasional good nights. thats fif, now. just another rapper. we just pay attention to him a bit more because of that 'ship.

Good point. By that same token, if you're getting older and your skills are deteriorating, you have to rest or get some help even if you're still decent, (which I think 50 is) you can't carry the team all alone anymore.

Doesn't help that his "teammates" (coaches?) are Eminem and Dr. Dre. Both have bounced between completely absent or uninspired garbage for the last 10 years.

Yeah, I remember reading that Jimmy Iovine told him to stop making mixtapes so his fans can miss him and then be like :gladbron: when he drops an new album, 50 was like :shaq2: and continued to release music the way he does.

Then again he probaly still drops mixtapes so the public won't forget about him, even Jay Z has to dikkride newer artists to stay in the limelight, only Em and Nas could completely disappear between albums and not be forgotten about.

Nelly was just as big as an star as 50 back then, he didn't release mixtapes and now hes :flabbynsick: so that method might not have worked :ehh:

Honestly I still think 50 could have easily been Jay/Nas status in the game if he stopped making mixtapes.

It aint even just mixtapes tho. He'll put out 3 or 4 "singles" a year too. Its too much. Jay Z pays people to manage his image and his career. 50 Cent should do the same...if he even cares about being a top level commercial hip hop artist.
